The QfactR Custom Carbon Bike process starts with an interview. We discuss what you’re looking for in a bike, how you’re going to use it, what level of experience you have, and generally determine what it is you want. This can be done in person if you’re in the Bay Area, near one

of our QfactR Sales Reps or over Skype or phone if you’re not.
Step two is a fitting. If you’re in the Bay Area, we will arrange a
fitting at our facility located at NASA AMES Research Park/Moffett Field. If you’re not in the Bay Area, we will help you arrange a fitting at a suitable fit center near you. Many high end shops have fitment services and we can let them know what we need and what you’re looking for.
Step three is the plan. We draw up the specifications for your bike, we recommend and you pick your components and build best suited for what you’re looking for. We hammer out every detail so that nothing is overlooked and you sign off on the plan.
Step four is a deposit. Yup, there’s no way around this: 20% of the bicycle cost to start once you approve the design and quotation. This usually runs anywhere from $1000usd and up and is non-refundable.
Step five… then we go to work… depending on the design, it may take us up to a month to fabricate, test, and finish your project. But it’ll be worth the wait. The frame is generally (unless we discuss otherwise during the design process) guaranteed for 5 years. We guarantee our fabrication accuracy to the millimeter and half degree on specified geometries.
